I like exploring ideas in two ways: through talks and illustrations. My talks aim to make complex topics a little easier to understand, and my illustrations capture the small, often unnoticed moments of everyday life in Japan. Many of these moments become prints, cards, or mini booklets you can enjoy at home or give as gifts.
Speaking
I practice sharing ideas publicly to help people think differently, reflect, or find practical insight for their work and life.
Topics:
- Work & Leadership — Leadership without authority, trust, influence
- Career & Transitions — Layoffs, career pivots, meaning
- Japan & Culture — Explaining Japan beyond stereotypes
- Writing & Thinking in Public — Sharpening ideas through expression
Past talks:
- Moderating a career-focused tech panel for a 60-person audience, hosted by a Fintech organization. I helped drive tangible impact, with three attendees later joining the Japan team. See Speaker Log.
- Speaking at
- Information sessions for a long-established consulting firm (50+ years in business, supported 7,800+ students in studying abroad at boarding schools from elementary through high school). See Speaker Log.
- A coding bootcamp’s Open Campus for prospective students. See Speaker Log.
- Alumni panelist for a coding bootcamp Career Week, sharing job search and early-career insights with recent graduates. See Speaker Log.
- Contributing as a speaker for a media platform run by a global consulting organization, highlighting the perspectives of business professionals—from early-stage startups to century-old enterprises
Illustration
I enjoy capturing everyday life in Japan in a way that tells a small story — commuting scenes, school life, neighborhood streets, and seasonal moments. Each piece can become prints, cards, or mini booklets for your home or as gifts.
Past Work:
- Designing book covers across different genres
- Creating interior illustrations for books, bringing stories to life through visuals
- Illustrating family portraits for seasonal greeting cards
- Producing artworks for home display, customized for personal and family spaces
Often, my talks inspire my illustrations and vice versa. Each piece is a little story that can be explored in a talk, booklet, or print — helping people see everyday life from a slightly different perspective.
